SAN DIEGO and NEW YORK—The Wireless Multimedia Forum (WMF) completed a six-month interoperability trial that included five wireless multimedia vendors, including PacketVideo and Emblaze Systems.
The six-month test included encoding and decoding of raw audio and video bit streams; encoding, distribution and playback of WMF-compliant MP4 files; parsing and decoding of streams packetized using the Real Time Protocol; interactive testing of the Real Time Streaming Protocol/Session Description Protocol over the Internet; and live testing of complete WMF audio/video streaming systems with and without network error simulation.
Other companies that participated and completed the interoperability testing included Luxxon, Mobixell Networks and Serome Technology.
“Interoperability is essential for the successful implementation of applications and services on current and near future networks,” said Emblaze Chief Executive Officer Eli Reifman.
