BEIJING—Ericsson has signed agreements with four provincial subsidiaries of China Mobile to provide packet backbone routers. The four operators are located in Chongqing municipality, a city with provincial status; Hunan and Yunnan provinces; and the Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
Nearly 80 percent of China Mobile’s nationwide backbone network consists of Ericsson’s AXI Internet Protocol (IP) backbone routers. The company has already delivered IP backbone routers to 17 other provincial subsidiaries of China Mobile.
