LONDON—MobileCom announced it will introduce a new 2.5-generation (2.5G) General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) mobile network throughout Jordan by early 2002.
GPRS is currently being installed in several Middle Eastern countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia, while Lebanon already has a 2.5G network in commercial use.
MobileCom is set to launch a number of GPRS-based services in the beginning of 2002, according to Erick Valette, chief marketing officer, MobileCom.
