TIM offers location-based services from Autodesk

SAN RAFAEL, California, United States—Wireless giant Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) plans to offer a navigation, concierge and mobile-commerce service from Autodesk Location Services, a division of Autodesk, to its subscribers this month.

Autodesk said its MobileConnect service will allow TIM to offer a variety of location-based services, including navigation and real-time traffic information, point-of-interest information and concierge services. The service works through short message service (SMS) messages, location technology and a call center.
