LAS VEGAS—Planet Halo Inc. unveiled its new personal digital assistant/mobile phone device at the Consumer Electronics Show, with plans to ship the device in June.
The company said its device, which features a QWERTY keyboard, Java capability and support for GPRS, CDMA 1xRTT and Mobitex networks, will be priced “well below” current offerings. In a release the company said the device would sell for between $99 and $149, but shortly thereafter the company said to disregard those prices and said instead that it would hold off on specific pricing at this time.
Planet Halo said its Halo device would sell to the business user and feature virtual synchronization with the desktop, while its Instant Network Kommunicator device would sell to the consumer and feature Java-enabled games.
