Murray Hill, New Jersey, United States—Lucent Technologies has appointed a returning executive, Patricia Russo, as its chief executive officer (CEO). She replaces Henry Schacht, 67, who will now serve as chairman of the telecom equipment maker.
Russo, 49, has had a long career previously with AT&T and Lucent and was Lucent’s chief operating officer (COO) before leaving the company last year to become president and COO of Eastman Kodak.
