BEIJING—Vodafone Group plc plans to invest $35 million in China Mobile subsidiary Aspire Holdings to acquire a 9.9-percent stake. Vodafone already has a 2-percent share in China Mobile (Hong Kong).
Hewlett-Packard Co. will increase its investment in Aspire to 7 percent, a stake valued at $24.5 million.
Aspire Holdings is active in research and development of wireless data solutions.
