WASHINGTON—Bankrupt U.S. personal communications services (PCS) carrier NextWave Telecom received a 14-day extension on the deadline to file its opposition to the U.S. government’s Supreme Court appeal of a federal appeals court ruling, giving NextWave licenses back to the bankrupt entity.
The opposition is now due 1 February. NextWave had asked for 30 days, but Verizon Wireless objected and a compromise of 14 days was reached, said Michael Wack, NextWave’s senior vice president and deputy general counsel.
