SAN JOSE, Calif.—Iospan Wireless Inc. received a patent for optimizing the use of multiple antennas in a wireless system, the company said January 28.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued the patent to cover Iospan’s system of providing broadband wireless systems with a method of controlling communication parameters in a wireless channel using multiple antennas.
Iospan now holds 40 patents related to its Multiple Input, Multiple Output technology, to which it has given the brand name of AirBurst.
The company said it is in the process of conducting field trials in the San Francisco Bay Area of the MIMO-enabled AirBurst technology, which it designed to enable service providers with non-line-of-site, mass-deployable broadband access solutions.
