REDMOND, Washington, United States—AT&T Wireless Services and Canadian operator Rogers Wireless introduced cross-border GSM/General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) roaming for their respective customers.
Rogers currently covers 85 percent of the Canadian population with its GSM/GPRS network, with plans to match its analog coverage of 93 percent by the middle of the year. AT&T Wireless has launched its GSM/GPRS service in more than 20 U.S. markets and plans to complete the rollout by the end of the year.
