BEDMINSTER, N.J.—Verizon Wireless signed an agreement with Qualcomm Inc. to commercially launch applications based on Qualcomm’s Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless platform. The BREW platform will allow Verizon Wireless customers to download entertainment and productivity applications over the air.
Verizon Wireless said it will begin rolling out BREW applications in a portion of its network as early as this spring.
