MONTREAL—Telesystem International Wireless Inc. announced it will extend its purchase offer for all of its outstanding units, and the offer will now expire at 5 p.m. Montreal time on February 28, 2002. Before it expires, the company plans to re-launch the offer further amended to comply with an order of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Thus far, TIW has taken up and paid for 25.3 million units validly tendered by Telesystem Ltd., Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec and all its subsidiaries and Rogers Telecommunications Inc., increasing TIW’s economic ownership in ClearWave N.V. from 45.5 percent to 75.5 percent.
