TAMPERE, Finland—Tahoe Networks said it is helping European operators create mobile data service business models that will reverse the decline in average revenue per user (ARPU) through a six-month educational program for carriers.
“Mobile operators are starting to recognize that intelligent and scalable networks are critical in enabling the realization of value from their traffic, and extracting this value not just from airtime charges but by also building the core value proposition of the content that runs over their networks,” said Robin Hearn, senior analyst at Ovum. “Tahoe Networks is providing a valuable service to the industry by moving it beyond the sterile debate on killer apps to a domain that really is within the control of mobile operators—how to make the right choices in network buildout.”
Tahoe Networks will unveil details of its new initiative on 13 February at the M-Commerceworld conference.
