MANKATO, Minn.—Rural telecommunications provider HickoryTech Corp. reported $4 million in wireless service revenue for the fourth quarter of 2001, a slight drop from the $4.6 million reported during the previous year. Wireless revenues were helped by an increase in average revenue per user from $28.10 in 2000 to $29.94 last year.
The company ended 2001 with 26,230 wireless customers after losing 98 customers during the fourth quarter, ahead of the 25,698 it had at the end of 2000. Customer churn also increased from 1.24 percent during the fourth quarter of 2000 to 1.85 percent.
