EDINBURG, Va.—Shenandoah Telecommunications Co. said it added 26,000 wireless customers last year, more than doubling its customer base to 49,000 subscribers.
Company revenues increased more than $25 million from 2000 to $54 million last year, with revenues from its personal communications services operations posting $34 million in revenue and its cellular operations adding $20 million. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization for the fourth quarter of last year were $400,000, a slight decrease from the $500,000 the previous quarter, which the company blames on increased sales and marketing activities in the end-of-year buying season.
