FRANKFURT, Germany—Texas Instruments said it is bidding for German telecom equipment maker Condat in a deal valued at about US$93 million. According to the deal, TI will take over Condat’s wireless protocol stack software serving GSM, General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution (EDGE) technologies.
The deal has yet to pass standards regulations and shareholder consideration.
