KIRKLAND, Wash.—Nextel Partners Inc. signed a seven-year contract with Amdocs, St. Louis, for provision of a customer care and billing system, data center services and application support.
“Amdocs was the clear choice for our … needs based on its proven ability to support iDEN technology and its success in helping Nextel Communications (Inc.) manage its billing solution implementation for its database of 8.7 million subscribers,” said Mick Makowski, chief information officer of Nextel Partners.”
Based on Amdocs’ Ensemble platform, the system will provide Nextel Partners’ customer service staff with a unified view of each subscriber to permit rapid order fulfillment and problem resolution. The system also is designed to facilitate Web-based ordering, to integrate price plans across multiple digital wireless service offerings and to improve time to market for the introduction of next-generation services.
