SAN DIEGO—Qualcomm Inc. unveiled details of its Mobile Station Modem solution, the MSM6100, it hopes to ship in the second half of 2002, saying that the third-generation chipset and system software incorporates video decoding and encoding, audio decoding, gaming applications, music downloads, camera, liquid crystal display interface and picture encoding and decoding.
The product drives “the worldwide rollout of 3G solutions, enabling cdma2000 1x operators to offer consumers new multimedia, games and other products and services,” said Don Schrock, president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies.
