NEW YORK—Lucent Technologies Inc. plans to cut about 5,000 more jobs, contrary to what the company had envisioned, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The U.S.-based telecom gear maker, which has cut about half its workers of 106,000, expects the new round of layoffs to take effect in June this year.
