J-Phone delays W-CDMA network launch

TOKYO—Japanese wireless operator J-Phone, which is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group plc, said it was delaying the launch of its next-generation network until December citing delays in agreements on international standards surrounding its planned W-CDMA-based network. The carrier said it wanted to ensure its network was compatible with international systems and could provide international roaming.

The carrier had originally announced plans to launch its network last December but postponed the launch until this June.
