AirGate reports increase in revenues, losses

ATLANTA—AirGate PCS Inc. reported $114.9 million in second quarter revenues ending March 31, compared with $37.1 million posted for the same quarter last year. Net losses also increased from $28.4 million last year, a loss of $2.18 per share, to $301.9 million this year, a loss of $11.71 per share.

The Sprint PCS affiliate said it added 53,010 net customers during the quarter ending with 506,367 subscribers. Average revenue per user for the quarter was reported at $60, compared with $59 posted the previous quarter, with churn remaining consistent at 3 percent.
