U.S. wireless users willing to spend more on service

CHICAGO, United States—More than half the attendees at a recent U.S. wireless conference said they intend to spend more year over year for wireless voice services, and 42 percent said they would spend an additional 11 percent to 20 percent per month on data services, according to a survey conducted by SoundView Technology Group and Gartner.

The survey showed that of those respondents willing to spend more on service, the highest indications of increased spending were for AT&T Wireless, Sprint PCS and Verizon Wireless services with weaker indications for Nextel Communications and Cingular Wireless services.

AT&T Wireless was reported with the highest satisfaction, Verizon Wireless with the least network complaints and Sprint PCS with customers the most likely to churn and the lowest overall satisfaction level for its network.
