NEW YORK—Price Communications Corp. added 9,846 subscribers during the first quarter of this year, ending the quarter with approximately 580,000 customers.
The company, which has entered a $1.7 billion agreement with Verizon Wireless to sell its cellular operations, reported $62.6 million in service revenue for the quarter compared with $61.5 million for the first quarter of last year. Net income also increased from $1.5 million or 3 cents per share, last year to $4.7 million, or 9 cents per share, this year.
