Sprint plans to co-brand Novatel cards with its 1x network

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.—Sprint PCS, which Reuters reported will roll out its next-generation network nationwide in August, announced it would co-brand and jointly market Novatel Wireless Inc.’s PCS 1x-compatible Connection Card beginning this summer with the launch of its 1x network. While not providing a specific time frame, Sprint PCS said it is still on track for its planned summer launch of the network.

Novatel said the card would support data transmission speed of up to 144 kilobits per second with average speeds of between 50 kbps and 70 kbps.

Sprint noted the card will be an integral part of its Clear Wireless Workplace offering aimed at providing end-to-end, customized solutions for enterprise customers.
