NEW DELHI, India—The rising graph of cellular phone subscribers in India took a dip, with fewer additions during April. All the operators together added 280,000 subscribers during the month, a fall of about 26 percent compared with the previous month.
The total number of subscribers on 30 April stood at 6.7 million, according to figures released by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
Leading operators have reported major drops in new prepaid additions recently due to the recent government order making proper identification mandatory from new prepaid subscribers.
