TORONTO—Rogers AT&T Wireless has inked a deal to provide wireless data services for Purolator Courier, Canada’s largest courier company.
Under the deal, Purolator will use Rogers AT&T Wireless technology and its network to allow dispatch, field and delivery workers, along with supervisors, to synchronize and download delivery status information to wireless handhelds. Rogers AT&T Wireless said the contract marks “the first and largest wireless data solution implemented in Canada.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The data solution will be implemented on more than 6,000 PTD 7500 wireless handheld computers from Symbol Technologies that Purolator has deployed to date. Meanwhile, Dynamic Mobile Data is providing a two-way, packet data-based system with dispatch and job tracking functionality to Purolator supervisors and end users.
