COPENHAGEN, Denmark-Database technology provider Oracle Corp. released a new tool kit for developers to integrate wireless voice and data services into its application server, as well as new tools for Java developers through a deal with Ericsson.
Oracle’s new Wireless and Voice Integration Kit for its Oracle9i Application Server will allow developers to integrate core service, voice, messaging and location-based services into the company’s products.
Separately, Oracle announced a partnership with Ericsson to allow developers to develop, test and debug advanced applications for its server. The applications can be accessed through Ericsson’s Jambala Parlay Gateway.
Also on the Java front, Sun Microsystems Inc. released a new Java virtual machine the company said performs 11 times faster than previous VMs. Sun Microsystems also released a new version of its Java 2 Micro Edition developer tool kit.
