MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. has inked a strategic initiative with several wireless companies, including Agere Systems, Hewlett Packard, Sierra Wireless, iPASS and ipUnplugged, to provide enterprise customers with secure high-speed wireless data.
“This integrated portfolio of solutions will allow business customers to access critical applications behind corporate firewalls, such as e-mail, corporate databases and internal Web applications, via third-generation cdma2000 and UMTS wireless networks, as well as wireless local area networks in their enterprise locations and public hot spots,” said Lucent in a statement.
