Conterra signs agreement to use First Avenue Networks licenses

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-First Avenue Networks and regional broadband services provider Conterra L.L.C. announced a joint agreement under which Conterra will use First Avenue Network’s’ 39 GHz frequencies to develop high-speed services in Columbia, Charleston and Spartanburg, S.C.; Augusta, Ga.; and Charlotte, N.C.

“Adding 39 GHz licenses to our current wireless broadband service offerings gives our customers higher bandwidths, easy service migration and scalability from our present service offerings,” said Mark Horinko, chairman and co-founder of Conterra.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

First Avenue Networks was founded after it acquired the assets of Advanced Radio Telecom Corp., which filed for bankruptcy in April 2001.
