PARIS-Alcatel continues to fund its 3G Reality Centers, with announcements of about a US$10 million investment in a center in Cascais, Portugal, and the opening of another Asian center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The French company said the Portuguese center includes a live, end-to-end network environment dedicated to developing, validating and testing mobile applications. In Malaysia, the center will give Southeast Asia a window into the latest services being development, Alcatel said.
Alcatel said six 3G Reality Centers will be operational by end-2002, with two already launched. Asia has centers operational in Shanghai, China, and Taipei, Taiwan, with others scheduled to open in Australia, South Korea and Japan.
