Verizon Wireless offers AOL Instant Messenger

BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless Inc. introduced America Online Inc. Instant Messenger service allowing customers to send short messages to everyone on their Buddy List from their wireless device. The two companies previously announced a deal providing wireless access to AOL Mail and other AOL services from Verizon Wireless devices.

Customers using the AIM service will be charged 2 cents per message received and 10 cents per message sent or they can select from three bundled pricing plans.
