Jamdat buys multiplayer gaming technology from DemiVision

LOS ANGELES-Wireless entertainment publisher Jamdat Mobile Inc. announced it purchased multiplayer gaming technology from DemiVision L.L.C., a wireless technology company

Under the deal, Jamdat gains exclusive access to DemiVision’s gaming technology for developing and hosting interactive, client-server based wireless games.

“Jamdat’s existing multiplayer platform provides a robust environment for development of multiplayer wireless applications,” said Mitch Lasky, the company’s chief executive officer. “When DemiVision’s low-latency TDP/UDP technology is combined with our existing platform, we can take the multiplayer experience to the next level and offer near real-time wireless gaming.”

The move comes just weeks after Mforma acquired wireless gaming company nGame.
