DUBLIN, Ireland-The Ireland business of European carrier MmO2 will use technology from location-services company Webraska to offer WAP-, Web- and text messaging-based location services, including applications to allow users to locate friends (on a permission-only basis), search for nearby movies and cinemas, search for restaurants and pubs and request directions to selected destinations by foot or by car.
The applications were developed using Webraska’s SmartZone LBS Platform, which provides subscriber authentication, provisioning and profiling as well as dynamic menu structures and address matching, routing, mapping and spatial searching.
Webraska also recently announced a major deal with Orange.
