SAN MATEO, Calif.-Football giant Fox Sports released a new wireless game in partnership with games developer Sorrent, which will initially be available through AT&T Wireless Services Inc. and Sprint PCS.
“Football has become synonymous with Fox Sports. Our new wireless football game, ‘On Field Live,’ takes technology to the next dimension,” said Ross Levinsohn, senior vice president and general manager of Foxsports.com. “This is on-the-field, in-the-helmet, head-to-head action for serious sports lovers looking for an immediate fix.”
According to the companies’ press release, the game will be available through Java and BREW-capable mobile phones, which hints that Verizon Wireless subscribers will soon have access to the game. AT&T Wireless and Sprint offer Java download capabilities, while Verizon recently launched similar services using BREW technology.
