CUPERTINO, Calif.-Trend Micro Inc. has made commercially available the PC-cillin 2003, the latest version of its consumer and small office-home office security solution for Internet access via dial-up, wireless local area network or broadband cable network.
The company’s Trend Labs, a global network of anti-virus support centers, will provide advance warning of new virus outbreaks to PC-cillin 2003 users. The software automatically purges trojans and worms and repairs the damage they do.
PC-cillin, which sells for $50, allows users to stop viruses from entering their computers or being passed on to those of other people. It also scans messages and attachments from POP3 mail servers and attachments from Web mail servers.
