BEIJING-Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu has rated Chinese mobile-phone manufacturer TCL Mobile Communications Asia’s fastest-growing technology company during the past three years.
TCL is now China’s third most popular handset brand, following Motorola and Nokia. TCL Mobile’s revenues increased 263 times since 2000. The company is confident it will meet its sales target of 5 million handsets this year.
TCL only sold 216,000 handsets in 2000 but plans to manufacture 10 million sets next year. But Vice President George Guo told the South China Morning Post growth would slow, and the high growth rate of the past three years could not be repeated.
