IRVING, Texas-Nokia Corp. will bypass carrier sales efforts with a new online store, where Internet surfers can compare and buy phones and wireless services.
The site is managed by LetsTalk, which is an online retailer, distributor, and enterprise solutions provider for wireless service plans and devices.
Using Nokia’s new site at www.nokia.com/us, shoppers can conduct side-by-side comparisons of handsets and service plans available by geographic area. Rate plans are available from most major wireless carriers including Alltel, AT&T, Cellular One, Cingular, Cricket, Suncom, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon and Western Wireless.
Motorola Inc. offers a similar service for its own phones, which is managed by GetConnected Inc.
