PHILADELPHIA-Verizon Communications Inc. announced plans to lay off approximately 3,500 employees this week in an attempt to cut costs, according to Reuters.
The layoffs come on top of 5,000 job cuts made this year through retirement incentives, attrition and eliminating outside contractors and are expected to include a range of positions mostly from the company’s New York operations.
