Samsung to invest $1.2B in chip making

SEOUL, South Korea-Samsung Electronics Co. will invest $1.2 billion to upgrade its chip-making facilities, according to Reuters.

The company plans to produce memory chips using 12-inch wafers, which can yield more than twice as many chips as the standard eight-inch wafer.
