ARLINGTON, Va.-The Consumer Electronics Association’s R6 Mobile Electronics committee has created CEA-936, a standard that allows cell phones to connect to car kits, car stereos, RS232 device sand chargers through a mini-USB connector included in On-The-Go (OTG) supplements.
“This will increase the adoption rate of the mini-USB connector on cell phones and bring us closer to the goal of allowing consumers to connect any two portable devices together using a single cable,” explained Terry Remple, chairman of the CEA working group that created the new standard.
