SHANGHAI, China-Motorola unveiled today in Shanghai, China, eight new handsets that feature EMS and MMS messaging technologies; Java capabilities; support for GPRS, EDGE and UMTS/WCDMA; color screens; and polyphonic speakers.
Included in Motorola’s 2003 lineup are:
- the Motorola E365 features an embedded camera;
- the Motorola V600 also has a camera, supports up to 64,000 colors, includes visual call-ID and Bluetooth technology;
- the Motorola T725 is based on EDGE and includes Java technology for advanced gaming capabilities;
- the Motorola A835 features UMTS and includes Java technology for advanced gaming capabilities;
- the Motorola V295 has an integrated camera, allows users to attach voice messages to pictures and features instant messaging;
- the Motorola A388c features color, e-mail capabilities, SMS, group SMS and IM capabilities;
- the Motorola C350 series of handsets can be personalized inside and out, with downloadable wallpaper ring tones and screen savers, as well as options for exterior housings;
- and the Motorola E380 is capable of downloading ringers, images, lights and sounds.
Motorola said the A388c, C350 and V295 are scheduled for availability in the first half of 2003, with the V600, T725, E365, E380 and A835 slated for the second half of 2003.
