LAS VEGAS-Micro Linear Corp. said it has launched what it calls an industry-first single-chip 5.8 GHz transceiver, which operates with less interference than other bands since fewer devices operate in the frequencies.

“5.8 GHz products can be used in close proximity to Wireless LANs and microwaves, two of the primary band obstructions in 2.4GHz,” said the company in a press release.
