WATERLOO, Ontario-Telefonica Moviles Espana, a subsidiary of the Telefonica Moviles Group, will sell Research In Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry wireless e-mail device starting in the next few months, a move that will make the carrier the first to offer the BlackBerry in Spain.
“With this agreement we strengthen our corporate data services portfolio based on GPRS technology under the Oficin MoviStar brand,” said Luis Ezcurra, services development general manager for Telefonica Moviles Espana. “We also begin a technical and commercial relationship with RIM, a leader in wireless solutions for enterprises.”
The teaming is the latest in a long line of carrier deals for RIM.
