WATERLOO, Ontario-Wireless e-mail company Research In Motion Ltd. scored a deal to provide 20,000 of its BlackBerry devices to real estate company GMAC.
The deal comes as RIM and Good Technologies Inc. are locked in a battle over enterprise customers as well as legal issues. The companies have filed patent infringement lawsuits against each other.
The deal also comes on the heels of RIM’s new partnership with Extended Systems, which provides mobile information management products for businesses. The two companies will partner to integrate Extended Systems’ OneBridge mobile platform into RIM’s enterprise server, a move the companies said would give mobile workers access to not only e-mail but also enterprise applications such as Siebel, SAP and Tibco.
