TOKYO-NTT DoCoMo, the largest mobile carrier in Japan, said it will stop selling the latest mobile handset manufactured by NEC because the handset might generate heat. According to NTT DoCoMo, the N504iS handset might generate heat up to 100 degrees Celsius because there is some mismatching between the main device and the battery pack.
NTT DoCoMo launched the N504iS equipped with a built-in camera last November. A total of 800,000 units have been sold so far. NTT DoCoMo said it would revise the design of the battery pack and recommended users exchange their current battery packs with the new battery packs.
