ATLANTA-Cingular Wireless L.L.C. introduced its Virtual Crew Chief polling program designed to allow subscribers to submit text message votes on various stock car race topics. The wireless platform, which is powered by Air2Web, is scheduled to begin during the Daytona 500 on Feb. 16 and will continue through 17 selected races throughout the year.
Announcers will present race-related questions during the course of the races covering action from the race, controversial moments and other race predictions. Each time a question appears on the screen, a text message will be sent to the fan’s Cingular phone asking for a reply. Results will be tallied in real time with results sent to each participant’s phone as well as displayed during the race telecast.
