CANNES, France-Wireless streaming video company PacketVideo Corp. announced it teamed with Austrian technology company Kapsch CarrierCom AG to create a wireless multimedia service for Mobilkom Austria’s newly launched UMTS network.
The service is based on PacketVideo’s pv3 Mobilmedia System, and allows users to view pre-recorded video clips, music videos, and movie trailers.
NTT DoCoMo in Japan also uses PacketVideo’s technology.
Separately, PacketVideo also announced that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. demonstrated the company’s mobile media technology using the Samsung S3C2410 application processor. And PacketVideo said it teamed with Openwave Systems Inc. to demonstrate the delivery of video over the multimedia messaging services standard.
