TOKYO-Netvillage, a Tokyo-based venture, on 17 February announced it plans to provide remote mail technologies to Linkage Technology in China.
China Mobile, the leading mobile carrier in China, in June will launch commercial service based on the remote mail technology. The remote mail service allows mobile users to receive e-mail headed for their PC address and let these mobile users send out e-mail with their PC address.
NTT DoCoMo and KDDI are providing the remote mail using the Netvillage technology. Based on the bilateral contract, Netvillage will provide a Chinese language program and offer consultation services, while Linkage Technology will be involved in marketing and technology development. Linkage will start the remote mail service in Nang King area first and will launch nationwide service later.
