Cegetel to consolidate data across networks

LONDON-France’s second-largest telecommunications operator, Cegetel, is to undertake a strategy to consolidate data mediation across all its 2.5-, third-generation (3G) and Internet Protocol (IP) networks. The operator has chosen XACCTmobile for this latest project. The primary systems integrator for the project is Accenture.

This decision by Cegetel is aimed at enhancing the operator’s capabilities to support more flexible pricing models for value-added offerings across its GPRS, UMTS and IP networks. XACCTmobile will form an integral part of Cegetel’s New Information System (NIS), which will unify and integrate all aspects of mediation, provisioning, billing and customer relationship management.

XACCTmobile will provide Cegetel with a real-time link between the operator’s network and its back office business and operations support applications. The deal will enable Cegetel to easily configure and transform its existing network use data into billing and decision support information.

XACCT was selected to supply its XACCTmobile to Cegetel following eight months of testing and evaluation of the product. During this period, it was integrated into Cegetel’s NIS project to replace all of Cegetel’s current data mediation systems.
