TOKYO-Hewlett-Packard Japan released a new personal digital assistant (PDA) with both wireless local area network (WLAN) and Bluetooth functions. The new PDA, called “iPAQ Pocket PC h5400,” has a built-in IEEE802.11b module, which lets users communicate via public WLAN networks.

The Microsoft Pocket PC 2002-based PDA also carries a tiny built-in finger print scanner on the bottom of the unit, which lets users keep private information. The listing price for the PDA is 69,800 yen (US$585). The product is scheduled to hit the market in mid-May.
